Tonya Pierson has joined Assurity as Vice President, Inforce Administration. She brings 26 years of industry experience to her new role. Pierson will lead Assurity’s Inforce Administration Team in areas including productivity, innovative solutions, and modern processes, while also maintaining high service standards and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Pierson comes to Assurity with more than two decades of knowledge in the Life Inforce area. She has experience throughout the voluntary insurance benefit life cycle, from customer service and project management to operations management. Throughout her career, she led teams and executed projects to deliver cost savings, quality and increased employee engagement.
“Tonya brings extensive experience in insurance operations and has a proven track record of leading teams through transitions and changes. In her career, she drove operational efficiency and increased customer satisfaction. Her expertise and insight will be invaluable as we continue to foster a culture of innovation and excellence in our Inforce operations,” says Tara Benson, Assurity’s Vice President of Operations.
Pierson says Assurity’s mission was one factor in her decision to join the company. “I was drawn to Assurity because it’s evident that the organization genuinely lives its values. I’m continually inspired by its culture and commitment at every level to helping people through difficult times,” she says.
Pierson graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and then earned an MBA in Business Intelligence from Concordia University, Nebraska. She lives in Lincoln with her husband and two daughters. She is an active volunteer with Lincoln Public Schools, Meals on Wheels and Community Action.
