The Workforce Accelerator, a HRTech accelerator hopes to nurture startups with talent management tools WITH Covid-19 pandemic expected to permanently change work culture, The Workplace Accelerator hopes to nurture HR technology startups in South-east Asia that can leverage of current situations.

The newly-launched accelerator is situated in Singapore and contains a virtual 12-week programme, for seed-stage startups specialising in areas such as talent management, talent acquisition, HR admin and workforce management, productivity and collaboration.

The accelerator gives access to a network of over 50 HR leaders acting from sectors like tech, banking and insurance. The startups might also receive investment in their businesses to help them grow towards their Series A round.
The Workplace Accelerator is led by Daniel Callaghan, CEO of London-based HR tech company Veremark and the former Asia-Pacific head of digital innovation and investment at Adecco Group.

Mr Callaghan said “With 55% of the population in South-east Asia presently a millennial or younger, they are both expecting and demanding a digital experience at work. The Workplace Accelerator has the potential to help early-stage ventures of the region to shape how the fastest-growing markets around the world work.”
The partners of The Workplace Accelerator include the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), South-east Asian tech advisory Vantage Capital Partners, venture firm Unifier Ventures, HR-focused investor Chapman V and Veremark, Mr Callaghan’s firm.

Gopi Ganesalingam, VP of MDEC’s global growth acceleration unit, stated that the accelerator addresses the new remote-working trend and a contactless approach in hiring, communicating, upskilling, and managing employee well-being. Mr Ganesalingam said “startups in Malaysia have proven their mettle in building a myriad of tech solutions and we are confident they will play a pivotal role in empowering businesses to adopt a hybrid model of workforce management. As such, we passionately support accelerator programmes that empower our startups.” Other partners incorporate HRTechTank, a global HR tech roadshow organiser; hrtech.sg, a marketplace and advisory for HR tech; and slintel.com, marketing tech and data provider for HR tech companies.
