Ten Thousand Coffees (10KC), the prominent peer learning and mentorship software, today announces its acquisition of Abode, the leading solution for early talent engagement and programming.
Jointly, 10KC and Abode are laying the foundation for the first truly end-to-end system for managing cohort-based talent development, from intern to executive. Abode has long served as the operating system for early-career programs. Now, with 10KC, that vision expands into a unified platform for all high-value, cohort-based development—including early-career programs, manager effectiveness, and leadership development. The combined effort will enable organizations to seamlessly engage, develop, and retain talent at every critical stage.
HR, L&D, and Talent teams are increasingly expected to deliver engaging, high-impact programs that are both personalized and scalable. Yet too often, those programs are fragmented across disconnected tools, leading to inconsistent experiences and lower impact. This acquisition allows the combined companies to help enterprise HR teams eliminate that friction by enabling the use of a single platform to manage the entire employee lifecycle.
By uniting Abode’s operating system for early-career programs with 10KC’s post-hire development engine, the acquisition offers centralized communication, built-in community, smart matching, robust analytics, and more, all within a single system designed to scale globally across the full employee journey. The result is more connected cohorts, higher engagement, stronger retention, and accelerated internal mobility.
Customers using 10KC and Abode have already seen the impact on critical talent outcomes:
- 50% fewer reneged offers at the preboarding stage
- 27% higher conversion to full-time hire for early talent
- 43% boost in NPS and 84% increase in perceived skill development
- 60% increase in internal mobility
- 30% reduction in churn
“This isn’t just an acquisition. We’re building the infrastructure for how the best companies grow and retain talent in the decade ahead,” says Ben Siegel, CEO of Abode and newly appointed CEO of the combined companies. “By combining Abode’s operational backbone with 10KC’s connection and peer learning engine, we’re launching the first comprehensive platform for cohort-based programs. Whether it’s new grads, first-time managers, or high-potential leaders, companies will have one solution to run it all—smarter, faster, and more personally than ever.”
As part of the acquisition, Abode co-founders Ben Siegel and Evan Deere will become CEO and CTO of 10KC, respectively. The current 10KC and Abode customer bases will continue to experience uninterrupted service, with a unified roadmap of enhanced features rolling out in the coming months.
