ZenBusiness, a one-stop business management platform with the mission to make starting, running, and growing a successful business simple and accessible, today was named one of the “Best Companies for Remote Workers” by Quartz. The award recognizes companies embracing the future of work and those ahead of the curve in creating exceptional experiences for remote employees.

Led by founder and CEO Ross Buhrdorf, ZenBusiness is supported by 153 remote workers across the United States. ZenBusiness gave up their downtown Austin office and went fully remote in March 2020 to help preserve everyone’s role at the company during the pandemic. To date, no jobs have been lost and ZenBusiness has no plans of returning to an office space as the employee count continues to grow.

“Culture has always been a critical part of ZenBusiness’s success, but since we’ve moved to fully-remote work, it has never been more important to us,” said Buhrdorf. “During a time that has been difficult for so many, we have gone above and beyond to increase accessibility to leadership, remain transparent with our employees, and provide the best resources and benefits that ensure our workers stay healthy and happy. While we may not physically be together, ZenBusiness feels as tight-knit as ever.”

“This award is a testament to the work ZenBusiness has done to put the tools, policies, and culture in place to help our employees thrive and grow even when we are no longer in the office together,” said Shanaz Hemmati, founder and COO of ZenBusiness. “I’m extremely proud of everyone At ZenBusiness for helping create our award-winning culture and continuing to provide customers with the exceptional service they have come to know and love.”

Quartz’s Best Companies for Remote Workers award is an opt-in global ranking that assesses company practices and measures employee satisfaction in areas including leadership, pay and benefits, training and development, corporate culture, communication, and overall engagement. The online surveys were conducted by the Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying and recognizing great places to work.

“The future of remote work hinges on how adaptive and innovative companies are willing to be,” says Quartz executive editor Heather Landy. “That’s why Quartz’s first-ever global list of the best companies for remote workers is so important. It showcases who is leading the way—across every time zone. These are companies that are making it easy for employees to work from anywhere, encouraging them to get away from work when they need to, and offering great perks and practices for remote workers so they can do it all.”
