Zellis, the largest provider of payroll and HR software for the UK and Ireland, announces several product updates as part of the company’s HCM 9.0 release. Significant developments that form part of the new release include:

Integration of Onboarding and Zellis Background Checking

Zellis HCM 9.0 enables tighter integration between Onboarding and Zellis Background Checking. Customers can now manage new starter background checks in an end-to-end workflow, with the Zellis Intelligence Platform (ZIP) supporting robust data integration throughout. This update supports a smooth onboarding process for new starters as employee verification checks are prompted from within Zellis’ onboarding module.

Improvements to payroll processing and pension scheme reporting

The new release adds more flexibility and automation to National Minimum Wage (NMW) calculations. Customers can now update NMW calculation types with an effective date using the HR interface, and additional warning messages have been added to prompt calculation checks for new starters who join late in the pay cycle.

Zellis HCM 9.0 also improves data-handling to support processing efficiencies. Specific area and process enhancements include: the FPS Data Extract, P45s,Third-Party Payment Analysis Report, BACS, Payroll Summary Analysis, increments, HR Interface, payroll calculate, HESA, and leavers processing.

In addition, pension scheme deductions can now be processed from the first day of the current pay period for both new starters who are auto-enrolled and current employees who opt in, which reduces the need for manual updates and improves data accuracy.

Commenting on these developments, George Dunnett, Chief Product Officer at Zellis, said: “Zellis HCM 9.0 includes a series of product updates that enhance our customers’ payroll and HR operations as well as the experiences of HR teams and end-user employees. The decision to tighten the integration of Onboarding and Zellis Background Checking is another natural evolution of our product and we’re confident this will support better efficiencies and experiences across the employee onboarding process.”

Additional updates announced by Zellis as part of the company’s HCM 9.0 release include updates to Power BI Embedded Dashboards and the ZIP platform: HRD and DEI dashboards have been updated based on customer feedback, and a Data Integrity Dashboard has been added to help customers optimise data quality. Improvements to ZIP include multi-tenant authentication, APIs expansion, new webhooks, ZIP monitoring, and API versioning.

“The scale and variety of these updates are indicative of our continued commitment to innovation. They follow the recent launch of Zellis HCM AIR – a generational upgrade of Zellis HCM Cloud that deploys cutting edge AI and Realtime payroll calculation,” concluded Dunnett.
