Workhuman®, pioneers of the human workplace, today announced that it has been recognised as one of the Best Workplaces in Ireland for 2021, ranking second in the large company category just behind Workhuman customer, Cisco. This acknowledgement marks the 9th year in a row the technology company has been recognised at the Best Workplaces Ireland awards, earning the company a Laureate Award for long term partnership with the programme. The Irish American technology company has also been recognised as one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces for Women once again in 2021 – especially important this year as the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to threaten the careers and lives of women across the globe.
Being recognized as both a Best Workplace overall in Ireland and one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces for Women in 2021 comes on the heals of tremendous company momentum. In June 2020, Workhuman achieved unicorn status with a new investment valuing it at $1.2 billion (€1.06 billion) making them only the second Irish company to do so. The success of the company can be attributed to Workhuman’s employees, remaining connected with each other through Workhuman’s Social Recognition technology and focused on the company’s goals during a time of great stress.
Eric Mosley, CEO, Workhuman, said: “This acknowledgement of Workhuman as a great place to work is due to our incredible people who have perservered in the face of extreme adversity during the pandemic. Despite COVID-19, we are on an incredible growth trajectory as more enterprises commit to galvanise their workforces in the new normal that’s been created. In 2020 we achieved unicorn status with a $1.2 billion dollar valuation, and we’re on track to double our Irish workforce to around 800 people by 2023. Critical to our success is our internal commitment to being a workplace where our employees can bring their whole selves to work. We practice what we preach through our technology, ensuring our employees and our customer’s employees across the world are enabled to do the best work of their lives. Employee happiness leads to strong business results, and this recognition from Great Place to Work Ireland further proves that point.”
It’s the human workplace mindset that Workhuman has fostered among employees that led to these recognitions by Great Place to Work Ireland. As a result, Workhuman has rebranded the company’s Human Resource team to the Human Experience team. With a recent Workhuman consumer survey showing that 71% of U.S. employees have experienced an impact on their mental health as a result of the pandemic, the employee experience at work has never been more important in ensuring overall employee well-being and strong business outcomes. HR teams are leading the way in maintaining human experiences as the pandemic continues to reshape the future of work, and Workhuman is taking an important step to formalize this commitment through individual titles and department branding.
Niamh Graham, Vice President of Global Human Experience at Workhuman, said: “We are hugely excited to be recognised as one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces for Women again in 2021 on the heels of a transformative year for our company. We’ve been laser focused on making Workhuman a place where our female employees can thrive at work, especially as everyone navigated the incredible stress brought on by the pandemic. COVID-19 has threatened the careers of many women across the globe, and when we moved to a remote work environment, we really listened to our employees and aimed to adapt to their needs. Being recognised for these efforts is a huge deal for us and supports our journey toward addressing the gender gap in tech in Ireland. ”
“In a year where the concept of ‘place’ was unexpectedly ripped apart from the concept of ‘work’, these organisations have shown the strength and resilience that underlies the Great Place to Work ethos. Having developed a deep sense of trust within and across their teams, they have proved that anywhere – from a manufacturing facility to a spare bedroom – can be a Great Place to Work. What matters are the fundamentals: treating your employees with fairness and respect, and keeping them up to speed with relevant, authentic, and honest communication.” said Cathal Divilly, CEO at Great Place to Work® Ireland.
Workhuman’s award as a top Irish workplace was assessed through Great Place to Work’s robust ‘Trust Index©’ employee survey and a thorough ‘Culture Audit©’ assessment of its policies and practices.
