HowNow – the AI learning and upskilling platform today announces a strategic partnership with Harvard Business Impact (HBI), the learning division of Harvard Business Publishing. Through this agreement, curated content from Harvard Business Review (HBR), the leading media brand for business professionals, will be made available to HowNow Guru customers.
The integration marks the first expansion of the HowNow Guru ecosystem, and reinforces the company’s commitment to working only with trusted content providers who bring proven expertise and credibility.
HBR is the definitive global source for leadership, management, strategy, and innovation insights. Published by Harvard Business Publishing, HBR offers an extensive digital library that features a wealth of knowledge and expertise from recognised leaders in the business management space.
Launched in April this year, HowNow Guru is a purpose-built AI agent that can teach, coach and enable people through dynamic and interactive multi-modal learning experiences. These are tailored to each person’s capabilities, skills gaps and their organisation’s knowledge. Unlike traditional learning tools, Guru delivers hyper-personalised teaching at scale, combining practice simulations, instant feedback and deep dives into topics, all underpinned by strong pedagogy and business context.
By connecting Guru to HBR’s verified content, subscribing HowNow customers and their employees will benefit from hyper-personalised learning experiences, powered by the most reliable content and proven expertise.
HowNow’s Co-founder and CEO, Nelson Sivalingam, said: “Our partnership with HBI integrates HBR’s world-class expertise into agentic AI learning experiences that can teach, coach and adapt at scale. The partnership also represents a powerful new business model that will enable content providers to monetise their knowledge in ways that directly impact how people work and grow.
Sivalingam added: “Customers can now combine HBR’s recognised authority with their own organisational knowledge to build Gurus that are not only credible, but contextually relevant to their people and business. This is the future of learning: trusted expertise, adapted to every individual and every organisation.”
HowNow customers who subscribe to HBR’s content can opt for one or more ‘Knowledge Packs’, carefully curated from a library of +30,000 assets, and all underpinned by HowNow Guru’s AI technology. These Knowledge Packs cover the following topics: Health and Behavioural Science, Business and Strategy, Technology and Innovation, Leadership, and Productivity. Alternatively, or in addition, customers can choose a purpose-built Guru out of the box that draws on HBR’s extensive content to support a specific use case, such as becoming a new manager.
“We’re essentially building an app store that will power Guru with world-class knowledge, and that’s hugely exciting for people and business. This partnership further strengthens our product and enhances the value we deliver to customers,” concluded Sivalingam.
“At Harvard Business Publishing, our goal is to help leaders and organizations turn insight into action. Partnering with HowNow enables us to bring Harvard Business Review’s trusted expertise to learners through dynamic, AI-powered experiences that reflect how people learn and work today,” said Ian Fanton, Chief Client Officer at Harvard Business Publishing.
Gloria Reina, Senior Partnerships Manager at HowNow, added: “When it comes to business management, strategy, and leadership, HBR is one of the most trusted and influential sources of insight in the world. This partnership allows us to bring even more high-quality thinking to the organisations and learners we support.”
The HowNow-HBR integration will be available to HowNow customers and organisations by the end of 2025.
