Symetra Again Receives Top Workplace Honors from Forbes

Symetra has once again been recognized by Forbes as a top employer. The Bellevue, Wash.-based life insurer was named to Forbes’ 2022 “America’s Best-in-State Employers” list as one of the top 60 employers in Washington state. The designation is Symetra’s second workplace award for 2022 following its Great Place to Work Certification™ earlier this month.

Presented by Forbes and market research company Statista Inc., “America’s Best-in-State Employers” 2022 were identified in an independent survey based on a sample of approximately 70,000 Americans working for companies with more than 500 employees in the USA. Across 25 industry sectors, 1,382 employer brands were ranked among the top employers.

“We are thrilled to receive this top employer recognition from Forbes, which reflects feedback from our people as well as our broader industry community. It’s a powerful validation of the work we’ve done to evolve our culture and build an inclusive, flexible workplace that emphasizes creating a rewarding experience for every Symetra employee,” said Anne-Marie Diouf, senior vice president and chief human resources officer.

Forbes noted “employers … realize that their brands and their values have to resonate at a local level to attract the kind of talent to get things done.” The survey considered every aspect of an employee’s experience including working conditions, salary, potential for growth, and diversity. The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from employees who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Employees were also asked to evaluate other employers in their respective industry and state that stood out either positively or negatively. Read the Forbes article here.

Symetra was previously named to Forbes’ “America’s Best-in-State Employers” list in 2021. The company was also recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal in 2021 as one of “Washington’s Best Workplaces,” ranked No. 6 among the top 25 workplaces in the extra-large company category.
