Telliris Announces Amazon Web Services (AWS) Long Term Testing

Telliris

Telliris, a leading provider of IVR solutions for workforce management and time & attendance announced it has executed testing of Telliris Attend version 2.9.0 on AWS EC2 for a six-month period.

Provisioning of Telliris Attend on AWS is a natural progression of operating in a virtual environment. Due to the real-time nature of telecommunications processing it was not possible to run in a virtualized environment in the early days of IVR. Telliris first announced support of a virtualized environment in 2014 with VMWare vSphere Hypervisor ESXi 5.1 In 2022 Telliris transitioned its cloud environment from carrier-neutral data centers to the Google Cloud Platform.

Telliris is available in both Cloud SaaS as well as On-Premises formats. This is due to it serving a telecommunications role where on-premises format is sometimes more favorable, keeping traffic within an organizations private network.

Telliris is built from the top down to operate for long periods of time with near zero administration. The testing in AWS for six months demonstrated stable operation including continuous connectivity with a partner time & attendance system located at one of the other four major public cloud providers. The positive results were in accord with this overall strategy.

From an operational perspective there are no changes when running Telliris in AWS, GCP, VMWare, or Bare Metal environments. Organizations that prefer running in AWS can stand up an instance of Telliris in a couple hours. The procedure is similar to provisioning in other public cloud environments. Partners and their end-customers can use the Telliris AWS Provisioning Guide even if they do not have AWS knowledge and expertise such as for setting up a reference platform for use by support staff. Telliris employs a “one step install process” which takes a new server / VM / Public Cloud Instance and loads all software in 10 to 15 minutes so it is ready to accept inbound calls. The one step install along with the AWS guide make it a routine process which is greatly appreciated by the Telliris channel partner community. Telliris products are sold, installed, and maintained by channel partners that provide it alongside their workforce management, human capital management, and time and attendance products.

“Telliris recognized a strong desire for Virtualization and Public Cloud support by its channel partners and their end-customers years ago,” said Mark Nickson, Managing Director at Telliris. With the addition of AWS, HR and IT departments have another virtualization solution.
