Legion Technologies, an innovator in workforce management (WFM), today announced the launch of Legion Copilot, a generative AI-powered assistant embedded within the Legion WFM platform. In its initial rollout, Legion customers across the retail, food services, and hospitality industries will have an opportunity to test drive this innovative solution, which is currently in limited availability.

Generative AI has gained a formidable reputation for its impact on the white-collar workforce, with one in five workers experiencing “high” exposure to AI disruption. However, generative AI also has the potential to revolutionize the deskless worker experience, especially in labor-intensive industries such as retail and hospitality. Considering deskless workers in labor-intensive industries often lack technical expertise and find it difficult to adopt new technology, Legion Copilot is a personalized, knowledgeable, and actionable assistant designed to boost employees’ skills and increase their engagement with the platform to achieve greater productivity.

“With the generative AI copilot in Legion WFM, users don’t just receive information relevant to their day-to-day work—they wield the power to drive actions and execute powerful WFM workflows using simple conversational interactions,” said Sanish Mondkar, CEO and founder of Legion. “This changes the game for deskless workers, which represents the vast majority of Legion’s user base.”

As an AI-native platform with deep engagement of 88% weekly active users, Legion WFM is able to create compelling value propositions for its users. The platform is uniquely positioned to deliver a superior generative AI solution that enables complex actions via the interfaces, not just conversational Q&A—further empowering manager and employee productivity. Legion Copilot will:

  • Act as a virtual assistant to employees and managers. Legion Copilot instantly produces answers based on Legion product knowledge content, customer-specific knowledge content, and trusted public sources such as Department of Labor websites. It will also automatically “nudge” employees toward certain actions, giving them quick access to the tools and information they need to complete a task.
  • Serve as a virtual coach and trainer. For employees, Legion Copilot can improve employee learning and development by offering clear, direct answers to questions about their job. For managers, Legion Copilot provides instant insights into business policies and optimization criteria to drive better decision-making.
  • Enable automated workforce management actions via simple voice commands. By enabling easy access to schedule data and insights, Legion Copilot removes the multi-step process of searching and filtering for personalized answers about schedules and shifts in the Legion WFM app. It also allows users to effortlessly make schedule modifications, such as adding, deleting, or editing shifts, through an intuitive natural language interface. Legion Copilot not only saves valuable time but it also consistently enforces user access permissions, ensuring users interact with data only within their access boundaries.

As part of its development efforts around generative AI, Legion is also focused on building an enterprise-grade reference structure for generative AI in SaaS applications. Having deep experience with AI in the enterprise, Legion aims to set the industry standard for the implementation of generative AI in workplace technology.

Legion Copilot is now in limited availability for early customer usage and feedback. Legion Copilot is projected to launch in 2024.
