Nuvolo, the worldwide leader in Connected Workplace and workplace collaboration solutions, today announced that Heidi Horn, Nuvolo’s Vice President of Global Enablement-Healthcare, has been elected as chair of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation’s (AAMI) Technology Management Council (TMC).  Horn is presently among the Board of Directors of AAMI and has received AAMI’s 2019 HTM Leadership Award. She is also an inaugural AAMI Fellow and active in numerous national healthcare initiatives.

Tom Stanford, CEO of Nuvolo said that “One of the numerous things that differentiate Nuvolo as an organization is its active participation in initiatives that impact the healthcare industry. We are not only a company that operates on the periphery.  We are effectively involved in the industries we support, and we encourage our team to participate in industry associations and projects to make sure that they completely understand factors affecting our customers which enables us to better define how we can help.”

Established in 2004, the TMC is an advisory committee of healthcare technology management (HTM) thought pioneers who work with AAMI to advance and support the field. It showcases the interests of biomedical equipment technicians (BMETs), clinical engineers, and other HTM professionals. Priorities for the Technology Management Council involve strengthening the HTM field by discovering creative methods to promote HTM careers, developing materials to highlight HTM as a desirable profession to students and young professionals, building education programs to develop the existing employees, and producing resources to encourage best practices.
